Capabilities

HMI is capable of turning parts to 26" Ø x 40" long. Our CNC milling capability is 30 x 30 x 60; grinding centers 20 x 20 x 60; and CNC turning is 28" Ø x 43" long.

HMI applies CNC technology with knowledge and skills in all aspects of manufacturing for all of our customers. Our broad capabilities encompass design and manufacturing of small to large, low to high volume, and simple to complex components. Our policy for continuous improvement and approved processes assure products to the highest standard. HMI’s resume is impressive as we have worked on: Gyros for aircraft and missiles; RAILGUN; PREDATOR; STAR WARS, together with other recent projects; brake and calipers for drones; carbon fiber prop molds for drones; fusion reactors; components for aircraft microwave; Bulkhead panels and various structural components. Camera components that were sent beneath oil rigs for special detection; volume components for aircraft; satellite panels for space camera’s; sensors for expansion bridges; propulsion components; and volume molds for the plastics industry. We have done components for aircraft and helicopters. HMI specializes in CNC R&D; production, distinct and complex aerospace projects; plastic injections (all types); medical imaging products, all with quick turn around times.

Machining Centers:

• 30/60 62.5" x 30" Tablesize, high torque motors, rigid tapping, cutting feed rate .01-250 ipm, travel rate 400 ipm; Spindle HP 22.5, Spindle Speed 10-10,000 RPM with Accuracy Axis Positioning ±.0003", Repeatability ±.00015".
• 16/30 Also has high torque motor and rigid tapping capabilities; 15 HP, Spindle Speed 10-10,000 RPM; Cutting rate feed .01-400 ipm; Rapid travel rate 900 ipm (x/y) 700 ipm (z).
• The Rigid tapping for these machines provide high-speed tapping; allows thread pitch and precise depth control to be maintained to ±0.0005." Rigid tap speeds from 150 up to 3000 RPM, accuracy axis positioning ±.0002", repeatability ±.0001."
• Surface Grinder SH2060 20.9" x 62" feed, 20" under spindle; graduation 0.0001" fully automatic 10 HP spindle with 10 HP hydraulics. The SH series have double longitudinal VEE ways to ensure high accuracy.
• 12" x 24" Cincinnati Universal Cylindrical I.D./O.D. Grinder.
• Milling Stations— CNC 16"x30" Prototype milling stations.
• CNC Turning: 2½ thru 50 horse 28" swing 43" long
• Lathes— 3 PGH Series with 3.125 through hole capability.
• Welding and Fabricating also available on site.

Everything is machined and welded to MIL standards from Government to Aerospace specs.
